Submitted By Bill Schlitt on Sunday, December 02, 2018
The 2018 Midget All Star game took place on Saturday December 1, 2018 at 2pm at the Aurora Community Centre.  The game featured the top players from both East and West divisions which were selected by the bench staff in each of our 12 centres with a Midget team.

Team East started the game quickly and pushed the pace through the first 5 minutes of the game and had several quality scoring opportunities but they were unable to score.  Team West then started take control of the game and scored the first goal of the at 5:22 mark of the 1st period by #13 Adian Desforges (Barrie) on a perfect set up from #7 Trevor Dungey (York Simcoe) and #12 Lucas Rampton (Barrie).  The period ended with Team East having several scoring opportunities but they were unable to put the puck past Team West goaltender Ryan Greenly (Markham).

Team East started strong again at the beginning of the 2nd period with several more scoring chances but again were unable to put the puck past the goaltender Greenly. The middle part of the period was end to end until the 8:05 mark when Team West scored a goal by #17 Adam Miwa (Richmond Hill), assisted by #5 Braeden McKinnon (York Simcoe) and #2 Stephen Whittle (York Simcoe).  The team from the West extended their lead at the 13:33 mark with a nice shot from the high slot by #2 Stephen Whittle (York Simcoe), which was set up by #17 Adam Miwa (Richmond Hill) and #5 Braeden McKinnon (York Simcoe).  The period ended with team West leading 3-0.

The third period started the same as the first 2 with team East dominating the pace early but once again they were unable to solve the goaltending of team west until the 4:29 mark when they scored their first goal by #4 Matthew McCullough (Clarington) assisted by #14 Andrew Swan (Whitby).  The score remained the same until the 14:23 mark of the 3rd period when Team west struck again on an unassisted goal by #18 Aren Sirmakesyan (Richmond Hill).  The game ended with a  final score of 4 to 1 for Team West.
