Team ETA Midget All Stars Defeat Team SCTA
In the OMHA Midget AAA All Star game Team ETA defeated Team SCTA 3-2.

The game was played Saturday, December 7th at Oakville’s Sixteen Mile Sports Complex as part of the combined ETA/SCTA Minor Midget Showcase.

Team SCTA came out strong at the beginning of the game but an excellent display of goaltending by Peterborough Petes’ Mike Simpson kept the SCTA shooters off the score sheet. Team ETA notched the first goal of the game with just under a minute remaining in the first period on a goal by Lucas Culhane (Quinte Red Devils) assisted by Odaro Ewere (Markham Waxers) and Caleb Clarke (Richmond Hill Coyotes).

Team ETA carried the play throughout most of the 2nd period and added an unassisted goal at 16:12, by Evan Wright (Clarington Toros) and a 3rd goal at 11:38 by Cole Patey (Peterborough Petes) with assists to Riley Rogers (Whitby Wildcats) and Will Everson (Peterborough Petes) on a nice passing play from behind the net.

Team SCTA scored with 16:39 remaining in the third period and followed that one up with their second goal at 11:40. Despite SCTA pressure Kingston Jr Gaels’ Sam Dingle was equal to the task and made some fine saves to secure the victory.

The game was a fast paced affair with relatively few stoppages in play with only 2 minor penalties were assessed during the game.

Final shots on goal totals were ETA 38, SCTA 47.

Player of the game was awarded to the ETA’s Mike Simpson and the SCTA’s Kyle Glenney (Niagara North Stars).

Overall, this all star game, which began in 2000, now stands at 13-5-1 in favour of the ETA.
